cPanel Disk Usage Warning

If you are running low on disk space you may receive an automatic warning from our cPanel Hosting Servers.
These emails are to let you know that you are running low on space.

Where Has All My Space Gone?

You need to review you current space usage this can be done by preforming the folowing actions:

  • Log into your Hosting Panel
  • Under files select "Disk Space Usage"

Under this section you can review where all you data is located.

What Options Do I Have?

You have a few options some are explained below.

1. Clearing Unused Files

If you have an ftp account or some unused files that you have uploaded to you account and you are no longer using you can remove these.

Remember deleting anything in your /public_html/ direcorty may effect your website!

2. Clean you email.

Most of the time the space will be in your email. This is because you email could be using and IMAP configuration. This means that your email is stored on the server, therefor it takes up space. You have a couple of options: you can delete some email, or you can chnage your email to POP3. This means that you download you email to your computer and store it there.
This does have some down sides:

  • No Access to downloaded email on webmail.
  • Email is not backed up as part of Kadeo's backup routine.
  • If you lose your email on your computer is gone.

3. Purchase a Disk Space Upgrade

You are able to upgrade you hosting package to include extra diskspace.
This means that you pay a little extra each month to get more diskspace to store your data.
The extra diskspace is then treated like any other diskspace you have at your disposal.
